But I Thought The Fat Would Just Go Away!

For someone who has essentially been obsessed with losing weight since childhood, I’m surprised by how much I still need to learn about the actual mechanics of weight loss.

I mean, sure– I know about weight loss. Aside from everything I learned in school, I’ve spent years upon years absorbing all kinds of information about the subject. However, it seems as though there was one critical tidbit I completely glossed over: Where fat goes when we lose weight.

It seems as though I learned the answer to this question once upon a time, but had long since forgotten it. Well, I got a wakeup call today, and you know what? I’m absolutely mortified. 😳

In Over My Head.

This weight loss journey often has me wondering, “What am I even doing?”

You try to move more and sit less.

You eat more of the “right” foods whilst pretending that you don’t want the “wrong” ones.

Then you wait for the results.

And you wait.

And you wait.

And… you wait some more. 😴 ⏰

Boo!! LOL.

I Could Hardly Breathe– It Was Awesome!

From time to time, it can be nice to take a stroll down memory lane. It allows you to recount happy memories, learn from past mistakes, and look at your current position in life through a totally different lens.

Lately, I have been spending quite a bit of time trying to remember my past successes in weight loss. I’m not even going to lie though– I haven’t always lost weight the healthy or “right” way. There are definitely things I’ve previously tried that yielded the results I’m currently aiming for, but these are not methods that I’m willing to try again. After all, if they had actually been healthy and sustainable, I wouldn’t be in this position right now.

Mistakes aside, there have been many weight loss tools and tricks that were healthy, effective, and worth repeating. Now it is simply a matter of remembering what those specific things might have been. 🤔

Today, I am going to share one of my all-time favorite workout series and fill you in on how yesterday’s happy reunion actually panned out.

A Not So Simple Fear: Shorts

Everyone has something they are afraid of:

Snakes.

Heights.

Spiders.

Death.

When it comes to body image, I have many deep-seated fears. As I go through my day to day life and these insecurities are brought to mind, I would like to share them with you. I think it would be interesting to take a look at these fears more closely, and see if anyone else out there feels the same way.

Today, I would like to make it known that I am afraid of wearing shorts in public.

Barely There, Don’t Care

Before I jump into anything else, I’m so sorry for missing my last two posts!

But you know how you wake up one day and you have all of these wonderful plans, only to end the day wondering, “What the heck just happened?” Well, that is exactly how my weekend went.

One minute, I was trying to binge watch Homecoming (the Julia Roberts show on Amazon, not the Beyonce doc… although I do have to watch that still), and the next minute everything went haywire. *Sigh*

Never mind all of that though! I’m back and everything is all sorted, so there shouldn’t be anymore interruptions to our normal programming. 🙂

Do It Anyway.

Man, does it feel good to take a shower after a workout! But come to think about it, actually finishing your workout isn’t a half bad feeling either.

Let’s not forget those awesome, feel-good endorphins rushing through your body too.

Ahh…

It’s a feeling of accomplishment that simply can’t be beat.

Despite the fact that this is supposed to be a daily weight loss blog, it looks as though I will have to be away for the next few days.

I Won’t Be Able To Walk Tomorrow, But It’s Worth It.

I woke up yesterday morning as sick as a dog. Unable to get out of bed, I slept in much, much later than normal. This set my entire day back by several hours.

By the time I felt decent enough to actually get something done, it was already nighttime. So instead of worrying about working out, I stayed up until early in the morning, trying to catch up with things I’ve not had much time for lately.

Four hours later, I was back up and feeling much better.

It was time to make up for the workout I’d missed.

Speechless.

If only I had listened to my intuition.

My day might have gone a bit better if I had.
