The Great Outdoors

After spending a few days feeling rundown and uninspired, I was glad to wake up Saturday morning with a spring back in my step.

Despite not being back to 100%, I went outside to do some landscaping. The backyard needed some new rocks for the planters, so with the sky clear and the sun blazing, I decided it was as good a day as any to get some much needed fresh air.

Hello, Dance Class! It’s Been A Minute.

Why, oh why isn’t working out like riding a bike? You know, just hop on and go like you never stopped riding in the first place?

It’s been at least two weeks since I last joined my online dance cardio class, and judging by the way it went, it’s been entirely too long.

Jack & Jill

Jack and Jill went up the hill…

…but today, I didn’t.

And from the looks of it, I won’t be climbing any hills for awhile.

In Over My Head.

This weight loss journey often has me wondering, “What am I even doing?”

You try to move more and sit less.

You eat more of the “right” foods whilst pretending that you don’t want the “wrong” ones.

Then you wait for the results.

And you wait.

And you wait.

And… you wait some more. 😴 ⏰

Boo!! LOL.

Let’s Eat: Korean BBQ Chicken + Vegetable Fried Rice + Gamja Jorim

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you may have noticed that specific meals are rarely mentioned in my posts. The reason for this is that my diet has been as basic as basic gets lately.

When it comes to food, I am sometimes a creature of habit, so I never thought it would be very interesting for you guys to hear me eat the same thing over and over and over again. And even though I don’t mind eating the same things, I don’t particularly find it fun to write about the same old stuff day in and day out. 😴

However, I finally have a treat to share with you: Korean BBQ Chicken, Fried Rice, and Gamja Jorim (Korean braised potatoes).

Yum. 😋 🇰🇷

I Could Hardly Breathe– It Was Awesome!

From time to time, it can be nice to take a stroll down memory lane. It allows you to recount happy memories, learn from past mistakes, and look at your current position in life through a totally different lens.

Lately, I have been spending quite a bit of time trying to remember my past successes in weight loss. I’m not even going to lie though– I haven’t always lost weight the healthy or “right” way. There are definitely things I’ve previously tried that yielded the results I’m currently aiming for, but these are not methods that I’m willing to try again. After all, if they had actually been healthy and sustainable, I wouldn’t be in this position right now.

Mistakes aside, there have been many weight loss tools and tricks that were healthy, effective, and worth repeating. Now it is simply a matter of remembering what those specific things might have been. 🤔

Today, I am going to share one of my all-time favorite workout series and fill you in on how yesterday’s happy reunion actually panned out.

Doin’ It For: The French Riviera

For some, the road to weight loss can be a long and bumpy one.

*Raises hand*

Committing to your long-term goals, whatever they may be, can require a significant amount of focus, determination, and resilience. When the going gets tough and you start to question how you’ve found yourself where you are, it’s extremely important to keep in mind all of the reasons you wish to pursue the goal you’re chasing.

For me, it is a daily necessity to use my intended future life as a source of motivation and inspiration. Opposed to focusing on my present situation and weight (which isn’t going to drastically change anytime soon), I try my very best to regularly use my imagination as a weight loss tool.

Each and every day, I call to mind all of the things I plan to do and all of the things that will change for the better once I reach my goal weight. This practice has helped me immeasurably, so from time to time, I would like to share the dreams that help keep me on track.

One of the major things I want to treat myself to once I reach my goal weight is a trip to the French Riviera. 🇫🇷 🌊 🛥

Spilling The Tea: Will Ginger Tea Really Help Me Lose Weight?

While I actually love iced tea in all of its different flavors, hot tea has never been my favorite. Perhaps this is due to all of the times my mother thrust it upon me as a kid. 😝

Anytime I so much as sniffled or sneezed, here she’d come with a piping hot mug of black or green tea. Sometimes it’d have honey in it and other times it’d have lemon, but each and every time I was presented with hot tea, I wouldn’t want to drink it.

As an adult, I’ve tried to expand my horizons and explore ways to enjoy tea more regularly. Upon investigating new and unique teas from around the world, I learned that many of them not only have interesting flavors, but are said to provide distinct health benefits as well.

A Not So Simple Fear: Shorts

Everyone has something they are afraid of:

Snakes.

Heights.

Spiders.

Death.

When it comes to body image, I have many deep-seated fears. As I go through my day to day life and these insecurities are brought to mind, I would like to share them with you. I think it would be interesting to take a look at these fears more closely, and see if anyone else out there feels the same way.

Today, I would like to make it known that I am afraid of wearing shorts in public.

Barely There, Don’t Care

Before I jump into anything else, I’m so sorry for missing my last two posts!

But you know how you wake up one day and you have all of these wonderful plans, only to end the day wondering, “What the heck just happened?” Well, that is exactly how my weekend went.

One minute, I was trying to binge watch Homecoming (the Julia Roberts show on Amazon, not the Beyonce doc… although I do have to watch that still), and the next minute everything went haywire. *Sigh*

Never mind all of that though! I’m back and everything is all sorted, so there shouldn’t be anymore interruptions to our normal programming. 🙂
