About

Hi! I’m Chanel (aka Nell). 👋🏽💁🏽‍♀️

It’s nice to see you here.

I assume that if you’ve found yourself on this page, you are a bit curious.

Maybe you want to know what this is all about. Perhaps you’d like to learn more about me.

While I may not be able to answer all of your burning questions, I will certainly try my best to address what I can.

But if the info down below doesn’t quench your thirst for knowledge, you are always welcome to contact me privately.

Where Am I?

Physically? I wouldn’t be able to answer that. You might be swinging from a jungle vine somewhere near the equator for all I know.

If so, that’s really, really cool, Tarzan.

If not, I’m sure wherever you are is equally enjoyable—especially since you’ve made it to my weight loss blog.

After all, that is what this is: A (mostly) daily blog documenting the ups and downs of my undoubtedly long and arduous weight loss journey.

Who Are You?

That is a very good question, but… I’m not sure I can answer that with any degree of precision either. I mean, depending on who you ask, I may be someone entirely different.

But for the purpose of this blog, I am a young(ish) So. Cal born 🎼 junkie who loves to ✈️, meet new 👩🏾🧑🏻🧔🏾👱🏼‍♀️, have amazing experiences, and sell fun stuff online.

I write A LOT and LOVE to 🎤 (not just in the shower either). For fun, I enjoy learning 🇰🇷, creating new masterpieces in the kitchen, and completely losing track of time playing 🎮 (PS4 in case you want to team up).

I am a ♋️.

Pet mom of two beautifully sweet 🐱.

Currently: A red-head (This is subject to change)

Relationship status: Presently busy being the most non-bitter singleton ever

Really Likes: ❤️🧠💄🌴🌊🍒🥡📸☕️🎨✝️

Strongly Dislikes: 🤡🕷🚬🗡💉

What Does “Back Rolls To Bank Rolls” Even Mean?!

lol.

Honestly, I didn’t make this up myself.

This is truly a case of “Netflix made me do it” because I first heard this phrase on Dancing Queen. Alyssa Edwards mentioned having gone from “back rolls to bank rolls” when referencing her successful drag career.

I was totally inspired by this because:

A.) I have a weird sense of humor and found it cute and funny

AND

B.) It is the rags to riches, glow-up type of sentiment I’d like to be able to claim for myself one day.

All in all, I named the site “Back Rolls To Bank Rolls” to remind myself (and anyone else who is kind enough to join me on this journey) that despite your past and regardless of the current situation you find yourself in, there is always hope of leveling up and becoming an even better you.

Your greatest success in life may reside on the other side of your greatest weakness.

You only need to find a way to get there.

But this doesn’t just apply to weight loss. This site is for anyone who has ever faced a seemingly impossible task in life (ie. everyone).

Why Did You Start A Weight Loss Blog?

Well, I started this weight loss blog because I’ve spent far too many years letting my weight issues prevent me from being the person I truly am.

Not feeling as though I could buy or fit into the clothes I actually wanted to wear…

Failing to chase the dreams that put a smile on my face…

Hiding from the world due to feeling like I could never measure up…

When you’ve been on the weight loss carousel as long as I have, there should eventually come a time when all of the dieting, with its erratic ups and downs, gets played out.

It is that time for me.

I want to share every victory and failure that I experience during this process because we often only get to see someone’s before and after photos. Rarely do we get to learn all of the mistakes, the false starts, the backsliding, and the true cost of losing a significant amount of weight.

I also wish to share the things I experiment with as I try to hack my historically rebellious body. You’ll get to see what recipes I try, what workouts I come across, and what crazy things go through my head as I try to navigate the world of health and fitness.

You will also get to see what works for me, as well as what doesn’t. There may be something for you guys to take away and utilize in your own life, so I’ll be here to be the little lab rat. 🐭🧀🔬

Let’s face it: Losing weight can be hard. Despite what some people may say, many of us know far too well how difficult it can be. We all have our own unique obstacles to face in life as in health, so it isn’t always a straight forward matter of “just stop eating” or “work out more”. Sometimes people need to find the right combination for them.

Personally, there are many things I must continue to work through in order to achieve the goals I have in mind. It won’t be easy and there won’t be any shortcuts to take, but I will not give up this time–no matter what.

I also hope to connect with other people. This could be people who are also trying to lose weight, people who have already lost weight, trainers, athletes, or just everyday people who are simply trying to live their best life–like me! 🙂

Hopefully, my journey will help show others that if I–with all of my flaws and shortcomings–can reach a seemingly unobtainable goal, they can too.

How Much Weight Do You Plan To Lose?

I am starting this blog with 100+ pounds to lose. 👎🏽

Goodbye and good riddance!

My ultimate goal weight is 117 because it would be within the recommended range for my bone structure and height. Also… 17 is kinda my number.

I feel as though it is going to take me FOREVER to reach my goal, but I hope this blog and the people I meet along the way will help make the process fun. 💖
